Turkey is preparing a transport breakthrough: the Istanbul-Eskisehir-Antalya high-speed line will change the country's map

Turkey is actively modernising its railways, and the new 714 km Istanbul-Eskisehir-Antalya high-speed line project will be a real breakthrough. The line will connect the largest business centre with the main Mediterranean resort, opening up a convenient route for millions of passengers across the country.

Once launched, it will take only 4 hours and 30 minutes to get from Istanbul to Antalya. The Eskişehir-Antalya section will stretch 347 kilometres and take about two hours. The trains will reach speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. The route will pass through Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Yspartu and Burdur, making these regions convenient transport hubs and part of the unified YHT network of over 2,200 kilometres.

The project will give a special impetus to the tourist centres on the eastern axis of the coast - Manavgat, Alanya and Gazipasa. The fast arrival in Antalya will allow tourists from Istanbul and other major cities to easily continue their journey along the modernised motorways to the famous beaches of Alanya, the waterfalls of Manavgat or the airport and quiet bays of Gazipasa. This will significantly reduce the total travel time, make possible comfortable weekends by the sea without flights and traffic jams, increase the utilisation of hotels and restaurants, and stimulate local businesses and investments in year-round tourism. Experts note an increase in the domestic flow of visitors and strengthening the position of the entire east coast as an affordable destination for family and active holidays.

The new line will reduce the burden on aviation and motorways by offering an environmentally friendly alternative. The survey and design is complete and a tender is expected shortly. The realisation will underline Turkey's ambitions to become the region's leader in modern railways and make travel faster, more convenient and affordable for all.
