According to recent data from official reports by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), citizens of the Russian Federation once again topped the ranking of foreign buyers in August 2025, purchasing 283 properties. Second and third place went to representatives of Iran (155 transactions) and Germany (118 purchases), respectively.
The statistics show that foreigners still prefer to buy property in Istanbul (671), Antalya (576), and Mersin (123), all of which are popular resort cities. Overall, the Turkish property market continued to show positive dynamics, with 143,319 properties sold in August — 6.8% more than in August last year.
However, experts note that the total share of foreign investors in the overall market volume was only 1.3% (1,810 units), which is lower than a year earlier. During the first eight months of this year, foreign buyers purchased 13,077 properties, representing a decrease of over 13% compared to the same period last year.
Despite the general cooling of interest among foreigners, Russian citizens remain a stable presence in the market and continue to dominate among foreign investors in Turkish real estate.
