Summarizing the results of housing sales in Turkey in February this year, the Statistical Office (TurkStat) reported that foreigners purchased 1,457 properties. This result was 21.1% lower compared to this period last year, when 1,846 transactions were recorded. The share of transactions with foreign buyers in the total volume of transactions in the real estate market amounted to 1.3%.
In first place among foreign investors are Russians, who purchased 256 objects. The top three were Iranians with 133 transactions and Iraqis with 99 purchases respectively. In February 2025, Russians increased their real estate purchases by 3.2% compared to January, when they purchased 248 properties. However, compared to February last year, the number of transactions with Russian citizens decreased by 35.2% - 395 properties were sold then. Istanbul, Antalya and Mersin remain popular destinations for foreign buyers.
