Alanya cements its status as a beach volleyball hub: FIVB runs an international coaches' course

Alanya is once again at the heart of world beach volleyball. The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), together with the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), is running an international course for coaches here. The sessions are hosted at Alanya's "23 Projects" beach sports centre, which the FIVB has recognised as one of its Centres of Excellence. The programme is backed by Turkey's National Olympic Committee, the Alanya municipality and the ALTAV tourism promotion foundation.

The course has gathered around thirty coaches from several countries — Turkey, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain and others. Led by an FIVB-appointed instructor, they work through technique, team building, training methods and match analysis, alternating theory with hands-on practice on the sand. The programme ends with examinations, after which participants take home fresh experience and new working methods.
