More and more foreign investors in Turkey prefer spacious apartments

The situation of the lira against the dollar stimulates sales in the Turkish real estate market. A profitable exchange rate provides the opportunity to consider more attractive options and break with the tradition of the sought-after one- or two-bedroom apartments. Sales statistics show that the area of real estate of interest to foreign buyers has almost doubled. The average area of the apartments was 100 sq. m. before the local currency surge. It has increased to 200 sq. m. According to the Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Foreign Real Estate, (GIGDER) Ömer Faruk Akbal, the unstable situation with the lira exchange rate spurs an increase in the number of transactions.
