Unstable economic situation in the world has had a direct impact on real estate mortgage lending. And although the rate on property loans in Turkey is quite low, an increasing number of real estate buyers prefer to pay cash for the apartments purchase. In June, mortgage transactions accounted for only 21% of the total share of sales, which is almost 70% less than in the same period last year. The first month of the year showed strong growth in sales for the first time in almost a year and a half since their fall due to the outbreak of a global pandemic.
