Atatürk Street in Mahmutlar has been resurfaced: nine kilometres of new asphalt

Alanya has finished resurfacing Atatürk Street in Mahmutlar. Road crews renewed nine kilometres of surface and used 19,400 tonnes of hot asphalt. The stretch was handed over a week early: the municipality had promised to complete the work by 10 September. Mayor of Alanya Osman Tarık Özçelik inspected the finished street together with his deputies and members of the city council.

Atatürk Street runs the length of Mahmutlar and serves as the main transport artery of the district. The asphalt went down after the power and utility companies had finished relaying the underground services and the old cobblestones had been removed. On the section towards Kestel, crews laid 1,300 tonnes of mix in a single shift. Mahmutlar is also getting a tea garden: the municipality expects to open it on 29 October, Republic Day.

Mahmutlar is more densely built up than most districts of Alanya, so the condition of its streets has a noticeable effect on how long residents spend travelling to the centre and the beach. Buyers view flats on resurfaced streets more readily, and owners find tenants for the winter season faster. Yekta Homes is a developer in Turkey selling homes directly: the company’s projects under construction and completed projects are gathered in the catalogue.
