The grand opening of the new yacht harbour, Gazipaşa Gold Marina, took place. It will become one of the most modern and environmentally friendly yacht tourism centres in the Mediterranean.
According to Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the opening of the marina will be an important step in strengthening Turkey's position as a leading maritime power. ‘Our country has enormous potential for the development of yachting and cruise tourism. With the opening of the Gazipaşa marina, we are breathing new life into the maritime sector and enhancing the region's attractiveness for investors and travellers,’ the minister said.
The new port is designed for 208 yachts and includes modern engineering structures: main and auxiliary breakwaters, extended berths, a floating dock, infrastructure for servicing vessels, treatment facilities and well-equipped public areas. The project has been implemented in accordance with the principles of environmental sustainability and safety.
Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin emphasised that Gazipaşa Marina will become a new centre of attraction for tourists and entrepreneurs: ‘This harbour will not only increase the region's tourism potential, but also breathe new life into maritime tourism. The port will contribute to the development of trade and the creation of jobs.’
