Alanya’s main hospital campus goes to Cikcilli: eight hectares set aside for the complex

Alanya’s main hospital campus will be built in Cikcilli, at the Taşbaşı site on the grounds of Alaaddin Keykubat University. Around eight hectares north of the student hall of residence have been set aside for it. The decision was announced on 23 September by Mehmet Şarani Tavlı, chair of the local branch of the Justice and Development Party. The complex is designed as a city hospital together with the medical faculty clinic and is meant to serve Alanya and the neighbouring districts.

The buildings were first meant to go up in Oba, opposite the existing training and research hospital with its 420 beds. The Ministry of Health was given 26 dönüms there back in 2024, and in January the district governor’s office reported that a 250-bed block and an oncology hospital had entered the 2026 investment programme. Geological surveys changed the plan: water at a depth of about three metres and gravelly ground made a high-rise building too expensive. The Oba site will keep the emergency department and the outpatient clinic in a low-rise layout, and the municipality will turn the rest into parking and a green area.

For a buyer, the distance to a hospital counts for as much as the view from the window, especially when the move involves a family or retirement. Alanya ranks first among the districts of Antalya for the number of foreigners holding residence permits, and access to healthcare is one of the main questions when choosing a town. The new complex strengthens the eastern part of Alanya, where residential construction has shifted over recent years.
