Turkish citizenship when buying real estate is in great demand among Russians

According to the Turkish statistical database, almost 4,900 Russian-speaking investors concluded real estate transactions between February to June of this year to obtain the right to citizenship. The investment citizenship program provided for investments in real estate for at least $250,000. In June 2022, this amount increased to $400,000. According to experts, these changes will not have a negative impact on the sales market for the following reasons:

  • Russians are still actively interested in Turkish real estate.
  • There is a revision of priorities, and more and more investors prefer elite and expensive housing.
  • The amount of $400,000 is not critical for many buyers.

An alternative to citizenship is obtaining a residence permit. For it, the terms are more loyal.
