Results of property sales in Turkey in August 2024 are summarised

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), 134,155 apartments and villas were sold in August 2024, an increase of 9.9% compared to the same month last year.

The highest number of transactions was recorded in the following provinces Istanbul (19,467 sales), Ankara (12,496 sales) and Izmir (7,044 sales).

The interest of foreign buyers decreased by 26.2% to 2,257 units in August. The most popular provinces among foreign buyers were Istanbul Antalya, including Alanya, and Mersin.

From January to August, foreigners bought 40 per cent less property in Turkey than last year.

Among international buyers, Russians are the leaders (381 transactions), followed by Iranians (171 transactions) and Ukrainians (161 transactions). Germans, Iraqis, Kazakhs and Azerbaijanis are also among the top buyers.
