Russians have reclaimed their leading position in terms of real estate transactions in Turkey based on July results

In July, the results of housing sector performance were summed up. Russians once again topped the list of foreign buyers in the Turkish real estate market, despite a decrease in sales that reached a record low in the past two years.

According to Turkish Statistical Institute (commonly known as TurkStat; TÜİK), a total of 109,000 apartments were sold in July, showing a nearly 17% rise compared to the previous month in 2022. Out of these, foreigners purchased 2,801 units, a number similar to that of April 2021. Among these foreign buyers, Russians bought 772 properties, placing them in the first position. Iranians and Iraqis also ranked in the top three. The most popular regions for real estate transactions were Antalya, Istanbul, and Mersin.
