In the first month of the current year, Russian residents bought 55 residential properties in Turkey. This represents 21.3% of the total volume of sales to foreigners.
In second place after the Russians are Iraqis with 208 transactions, and Ukrainians complete the top three with 127 properties. The most popular locations for foreigners are as follows:
Antalya with 28.6% of transactions;
27.2% of residential properties were bought in Istanbul;
8% were in Mersin.
Overall, the number of transactions decreased by 50.5% in January 2024 compared to the same period last year. This is the fifth consecutive month in which foreign buyers' interest in Turkish property has not increased.
