The mayor of Antalya supported the allocation of Alanya to the province

Muhittin Böcek, the mayor of Antalya, has stated his support for the separation of Alanya into an independent province. "If the locals want to move to the provinces, then so do I," he said to reporters.

Alanya has a population of 350,000 people, which is 3.5 times the number required to become a province. Tourism and the real estate industry contribute to population increase.

Alanya's status has been changed to coincide with the celebration of the Turkish Republic's 100th anniversary. On October 29, 2023, the final decision will be made.
