Alanya will continue to host top-level international beach volleyball competitions (Beach Pro Tour) until 2028. This agreement was reached following a visit by a delegation led by Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik to the headquarters of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in Lausanne.
This decision confirms Alanya's status as one of the key centres of world beach volleyball. As early as 2026, the city will once again welcome the world's best athletes. In addition, there are discussions about granting the local volleyball centre the status of ‘FIVB Centre of Excellence,’ which will make it a base for training athletes and coaches. "Alanya is investing in sport and shaping its future. Our partnership with the FIVB is the best confirmation of this vision," said Mayor Ozelik. The city is also bidding to host global competitions for young talents in 2027 and 2028, which demonstrates its ambitious plans to develop sport at an international level.
