Konya and Alanya to revive the Keikubad Caravan Route

The municipalities of Konya and Alanya have signed a protocol on joint work to revive the 405-kilometre "Keikubad Migration and Caravan Route", which connected two historical capitals during the Seljuk era.

The protocol was signed on 27 November 2025 and marked the official start of an ambitious project to transform the route into an international cultural and tourist trail.

The 405-kilometre route from Konya to Alanya has already been described in tourist publications as the Keykubad Migration and Caravan Route.

Plans include the creation of walking and cycling segments, the development of related infrastructure and the inclusion of additional branches, which should increase the flow of tourists and preserve the historical heritage.

The organisers have also announced the launch of themed walking events and educational programmes that will introduce visitors to the history of the Seljuk campaigns and local monuments.
