Property sales in Turkey continue to rise. But the number of transactions involving foreign buyers is falling

Property sales in Turkey continue to show strong growth. According to the Statistics Institute, the number of apartments and houses sold in September 20-24 increased by 37.3% compared to the same month last year. Cities such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir recorded the highest number of transactions. In the first 3 quarters of this year, sales increased by 5.2% compared to 9 months of 2023.

However, the number of transactions involving foreigners fell significantly. In September 2024, 31% fewer purchases by foreigners were recorded than in the same month last year, with a total of 2,022 transactions. Foreign buyers now account for only 1.4% of the total number of transactions on the housing market.
