In May 2025, 130,025 properties were sold in Turkey, which is 17.6% more than in the same month last year. The main growth was driven by mortgage deals, which almost doubled (by 95.9%). The largest number of transactions took place in Istanbul (22,103), Ankara (11,975) and Izmir (7,817). Despite the overall market upturn, sales to foreigners fell by 14.2% to 1,771 properties (1.4% of the total).
Antalya and Alanya (594 sales), Istanbul (648) and Mersin (145) continue to attract the most interest.
For more than three years, Russians have been the top foreign buyers, purchasing 274 properties in May. They are followed by citizens of Germany (127) and Iran (133). Turkey remains attractive for both leisure and investment.
