Russians lead foreign buyers of property in Turkey according to September results

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), foreigners bought 2,022 residential properties in Turkey in September this year, which is 31% less than in September 2023, when 2,930 properties were bought. Property sales to foreigners accounted for 1.4% of the total number of transactions.

Russians topped the list of buyers with 346 properties. They were followed by Iranians with 163 purchases, Iraqis with 139 transactions and Germans with 113 properties. Ukrainians bought 97 properties, while Azerbaijanis and Kazakhstanis bought 87 properties each.

The most popular regions for foreign buyers were Istanbul with 783 transactions, Antalya with 548 transactions and Mersin with 210 transactions.These data show that despite the overall decline in the number of transactions, Turkey remains attractive to foreign property investors.
