The real estate market in Turkey showed significant growth in January 2025, with a 39.7% increase in home sales compared to the same month in 2024, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute. The leading provinces in terms of transactions were Istanbul with 18,912 transactions, Ankara (10,158 transactions) and Izmir (6,634 transactions).
The growth of activity on the market is largely due to the expectations of the population regarding the reduction of interest rates and the subsequent increase in prices.
Among foreign buyers Russian citizens are leading with 248 deals. Next are residents of Iran (162 transactions), Iraq (103 purchases of housing), Ukraine (94 transactions), Germany (75 transactions), and Azerbaijan (50 purchases of real estate). Kazakhs took 9th place with 41 deals, and the British are in last place in the top ten with 39 deals.
