Alanya will be transformed thanks to investments of 19.7 billion lira in water infrastructure

The Antalya Water and Sewerage Authority (ASAT) has launched a 19.7 billion Turkish lira infrastructure development project for Alanya, which will be implemented over the next six years. These investments will greatly enhance the region's appeal to tourists and property investors alike.

The majority of the funds — 17.85 billion lira — will be allocated to wastewater treatment projects, including the construction of a much-needed central treatment plant. According to ASAT Deputy Director General Osman Yildiz, the new facility will be built underground and the upper part will be converted into a public sports and social complex. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026.

The remaining funds will be distributed between drinking water systems (1.27 billion lira) and sewage systems (760 million lira). These improvements will complement the existing infrastructure, for which 3.17 billion lira has already been invested.

This large-scale upgrade of engineering systems is taking place alongside the construction of a new expressway between Alanya and Antalya. Once completed, the expressway will reduce travel time between the cities from 2.5 hours to just 36 minutes, making the region more accessible to tourists and investors.

Significant infrastructure investment creates favourable conditions for tourism development and property price growth, making Alanya an increasingly attractive destination for long-term investment.
