In 2025, the Turkish resorts of Antalya and Alanya reached unprecedented heights in tourism, surpassing all previous figures. These popular destinations on the Mediterranean Sea have become a real magnet for holidaymakers from all over the world, especially from Europe and the former Soviet Union. According to official figures, Antalya welcomed over 17 million foreign visitors, 1.2 percent more than in the record-breaking year of 2024. Alanya, as a key district of the province, also made a significant contribution by attracting beach holidaymakers and sightseers.
The main influx of tourists came from Russia and Germany - these two countries accounted for almost half of all arrivals. Russian visitors, who numbered around 4 million, favoured Antalya for its all-inclusive hotels, warm climate and diverse entertainment. Germans, with a figure of 3.5 million, chose the region for its cultural attractions and relaxing holidays. Together they accounted for 48 percent of the total, highlighting Turkey's strong ties to these markets. The UK came in third place with 1.5 million travellers, followed by Poland and other European countries.
The secret of success lies in well-designed infrastructure: new airports, improved roads and expanded services for family tourism. Despite global challenges such as currency fluctuations, the season was a success. The summer of 2025 will be remembered for the peak months of July and August, when thousands of flights arrived daily. Alanya particularly stood out: its beaches, ancient ruins and nightlife attracted young people and families. Local authorities note a 5-7 percent increase in tourism revenue, which will go towards the development of ecology and services.
Overall, 2025 was a triumph for Antalya and Alanya, confirming their status as Mediterranean leaders. The figures are expected to rise further in 2026 if international relations remain stable. Tourists come back here for the sun, sea and hospitality that has not changed over the years.
